Choosing my cat         

It is important to understand that adopting an animal is a lifelong comittment.  Many cats live 20 or more years.  CITC volunteers are available to acquaint each individual with the pet of their choice.  There are a few considerations that are important when bringing a new pet into your home.  Volunteers can assist by offering information regarding the cat's "purr-sonality" and behavior patterns.  They can also answer questions pertaining to orienting a new kitty to a new home, children, or other existing pets.

CITC has 10 cats/kittens residing at the Alpharetta and Cumming PetSmart locations.  The remaining animals live at the main shelter.  On the weekends, some of these will be transported to PetSmart for the adoption event.  If an individual would like to meet a certain animal at the weekend event or during the week,  a request can be made using email at citcrescue@yahoo.com.  Volunteers are happy to transport one or more to the Alpharetta PetSmart to be seen and/or  adopted.  All kitties have been spayed/neutered, tested, vaccinated, dewormed, and checked for fleas and earmites.

Adoption procedure

An adoption questionnaire must be completed and returned to CITC .  Once the quesionnaire has been reviewed and approved, an Adoption Agreement is signed.  Then kitty can go home!

Adoption fee

An adoption fee is required to offset the cost of boarding and medical care.  Citc can only accept cash or personal checks at this time.  A picture ID is also required.
